Analyst POV:  CAN Bus

In this month's Cybrary  challenge, you  will be exploring the inner workings of automobiles by analyzing a CAN Bus dump file. The Controller Area Network (CAN bus) is the black box for vehicles, recording every action taken. Depending on the model the of the vehicle different actions will appear. By reversing and recreating the actions using open source tools such as ICSIM, this allows us to read vehicle operations such as accelerations, open doors, signals, closed doors and other vehicle operations.  

Who is this for:

Early career to mid practitioners. This challenge may be difficult for individuals new to cybersecurity, but the difficulty rating on this challenge is relatively low. We encourage using any internet resources and community/colleague assistance in completing the challenge.
